Europäisches Arzneibuch: Neue Ausgabe von "Pharmeuropa"

(ga). Die neue, 168 Seiten starke Ausgabe von "Pharmeuropa"", dem Informationsmedium der Europäischen Arzneibuch-Kommission, enthält 39 europäische Monographie-Entwürfe, die bis zum 31.März 1998 zur Diskussion gestellt werden. Besonders hingewiesen wird auf den überarbeiteten allgemeinen Monographie-Entwurf "3.2.1 Glass containers for pharmaceutical use". Begrüßenswert ist, daß eine Anpassung dieser Ph. Eur.-Monographie an die ISO-Normen ISO720 - Glass-Hydrolytic resistance of glass grains at 121ľC und ISO4802 - Glassware-Hydrolytic resistance of the interior surfaces of glass containers: Part1: Determination by titration, Part2: Determination by flame spectrometry vorgenommen werden soll. Erfreulich ist ferner, daß nun die Flammenphotometrie als Alternativmethode zur Bewertung der hydrolytischen Resistenz offiziell zugelassen werden soll. Weiterhin sollen Glasbehältnisse der GlasartIV gestrichen werden, da kein Hersteller dieser hydrolytisch sehr niedrig resistenten Glasbehältnisse bekannt ist. Und schließlich wird die Prüfung auf Arsen gestrichen. Weitere wichtige Monographie-Entwürfe sind die über "D-Camphor" und "Products of herbal origin". Schließlich werden noch die Entwürfe "Products of fermentation" und "Radiopharmaceutical preparations" (16 Seiten) zur Diskussion gestellt. Es folgt eine aktuelle Auflistung (Stand: November 1997) der Substanzen, die über ein Zertifikat nach dem Zertifikatsystem des Europäischen Arzneibuchs verfügen. Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag für diese aktualisierte Auflistung wäre die Angabe eines Ausgabedatums der Liste, da man sonst anhand der Daten in der Spalte "Date of Revision" mühsam das neueste Datum heraussuchen muß, um den aktuellen Stand der Liste zu erfahren. Hilfreich ist ferner eine Zusammenstellung der Änderungen, die mit dem Nachtrag 1998 des Europäischen Arzneibuchs eingeführt wurden. Im Rahmen der internationalen Harmonisierung werden zur Information die Inhaltsverzeichnisse des Japanese Pharmacopoeial Forum Vol.6, No.4/October 1997 und das Pharmacopoeial Forum (USP) Vol.23, No.5/Sept-Oct 1997 publiziert. Zudem werden die harmonisierten Monographie-Entwürfe zu -Analysis of amino acids - stage3 (USP) -Carmellose calcium - stage4 (JP) -Petrolatum - stage3 (USP) -White petrolatum - stage3 (USP) veröffentlicht. Das Inhaltsverzeichnis von "Pharmeuropa"" Vol. 9.4, December 1997, ist nachstehend abgedruckt.
