Europäisches Arzneibuch: Neue Ausgabe von Pharmeuropa

Die neue, 176 Seiten starke Ausgabe von "Pharmeuropa" , Vol. 12.1, Januar 2000, dem Informationsmedium der Europäischen Arzneibuch-Kommission, enthält 50 europäische Monographie-Entwürfe, die bis zum 30. April 2000 zur Diskussion gestellt werden. Hierunter befinden sich u. a. 13 Monographie-Entwürfe über Drogen, ätherische Öle sowie eine Tinktur. - Arnica tincture (Arnicae tinctura) - Caraway oil (Carvi aetheroleum) - Greater Celandine (Chelidonii herba) - Java tea (Orthosiphonis folium) - Marsh Mallow leaf (Althaeae folium) - Mint oil, dementholised (Menthae arvensis aetheroleum ex parte spoliatum menthole) - Oak bark (Quercus cortex) - Phytosterol (Phytosterolum) - Rosemary oil (Rosmarini aetheroleum) - Sage leaf (Salviae officinalis folium) - Star anise (Anisi stellati fructus) - Thyme (Thymi herba) - Wild pansy (Violae tricoloris herba cum floris).

Als "Rapid Implementation" zum 1.1.2000 sind Monographien zur TSE/BSE-Thematik abgedruckt. Es handelt sich um die Aufnahme der TSE/BSE-CPMPLeitlinie (CPMP/BWP/1230/98) in das Europäische Arzneibuch, die ab 1. Januar 2000 für anwendbar erklärt wird. Außerdem werden die Arzneibuchmonographien "Products with risk of Transmitting Agents of Animal Spongiform Encephalopathies", "Production Statements for Monographs on TSE-Risk Products", die geänderten Monographien "Magnesium stearate", "Stearic acid" und "Calcium stearate" wie 22 im Abschnitt "Herstellung" geänderte Monographien ebenfalls ab diesem Zeitpunkt für anwendbar erklärt.

Für die deutsche Hersteller ändert sich durch die Einführung der Leitlinie in Deutschland nichts, da das BfArM das Risikobewertungskonzept (20-Punkte-Schema) für nationale Zulassungen weiterhin als gültig ansieht. Besonders hingewiesen wird auf die Monographie-Entwürfe "Human Plasma (pooled and treated for virus inactivation)" und "Human Coagulation factor VII, freeze-dried". Weiterhin ist eine aktuelle Auflistung (Stand: Dezember 1999, 17 Seiten) der Substanzen, die über ein Zertifikat nach dem Zertifikatsystem des Europäischen Arzneibuchs verfügen, enthalten.
